Charles City Motel Destroyed By Flames
Fire late Friday gutted the Riverview Motel at the U.S. 18 and U.S. 218 intersection northwest of Charles City, Iowa. Owner Elden Pyle said the blaze started in a unit, spread to an oil furnace, then damaged all nine units. all guests escaped unharmed. Estimated damages place at about $150,000. the motel was a total loss.
