In Havre Montana, Lewis Hering credits Nubian goats with improving his health after years of a stomach condition. The herd, kept on the family farm for 28 years, yields about 2.5 to 3 quarts daily with milk used for butter and capsules for his stomach. The goats are well loved, named individually, and mostly breed true in spring.

Addie Lewis Whetstine died at his Wellman home Sunday at 9 45 am. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Daytonville Mission Church with Rev Ezra Shenk in charge. Burial will be in the Woassonville cemetery. He was born January 29 190? in Washington to Amos and Emeline Whetstine. He married Bessie Mae James in August 1896 in Washington. Survivors include his wife one daughter Mrs Lewis Swartyvendruber of Kalona two sons Russell and Ivan of Wellman ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death.

Washington Police Urge Tying Up Loose Dogs Citywide

Chief of Police Loren Robertson renewed a warning to dog owners in Washington to keep pets tied or confined. Dogs found running loose will be taken to the city dog pound and disposed of if unclaimed after the set period. He noted many dogs gathering on the grade school grounds and urged owners to keep them at home during school hours.

Forrest Elmer Argenbright 67 of Keota died from a skull fracture after his car collided at a county road intersection with a car driven by Marion D. Stoutner. Stoutner uninjured. Funeral Wednesday at the Keota Christian church with burial in Keota cemetery. Argenbright born Jan 19 1887 in Virginia. survived by wife Ruby Stamp.

Dirk Jan Weerman Dies at Farm Home

Dirk Jan Weerman of route one Wellman died at age 2 mt after a 10 day illness. Funeral held February 10 at Sherman's Funeral Home with burial in Elm Grove cemetery. Born January 1 8871 in Groothusen Germany, he married Frieda van Gerpen in 1895 and came to the United States 30 years ago. Survivors include his wife, son Join, daughter Weba, and three grandchildren.

A $1,250,000 blaze gutted a two block area in Zion Illinois starting in a department store second floor. Keota Man Escapes Injury in Tire Blowout Crash

Earl Kenneth Martin, 34, of route one Keota escaped injury Saturday afternoon when a tire blew out on his car causing it to roll over and land in a ditch northwest of Washington. The crash one mile north and three quarters miles west of the city in front of the Frank Kleese farm caused $400 damage to the car and tore down a fence. The sheriff's office investigated.
