Baker a 24 year old Northwestern University senior and Beta Theta Pi president who disappeared after entering icy waters around 1130 last night Richard Truitt a freshman who roomed with Baker reported seeing him vanish after diving in and later heard cries from a bluff overlooking the lake Truitt said Baker had left a desk note promising to read about the drowning in the newspapers and Baker had reportedly climbed out onto the ice before wading back toward the water.
