Keota to Hold Carris Funeral in Methodist Church
Funeral services for P. D. Carris, who died yesterday, will be at the Keota Methodist church Thursday at two oclock. Dr W W Bowers of Washington will officiate. Bethlehem Commandery Knights Templar will escort and the local Masonic lodge will conduct the graveside service at Keota cemetery. Casket will be open from one to two oclock. Carris was a longtime Dutch Creek township leader and prominent Washington resident. He lived on his farm over fifty years, was a Mason and Odd Fellow for more than fifty years, served on the county board about thirty years ago, and was a Civil War veteran. He died after a three week illness from a heavy cold. He leaves a widow, seven children, seventeen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. His sister Mrs R F Campbell of Des Moines survives.
