Chilean airliner crashes in Andes with 80 aboard
An LAN propeller plane carrying 80 people disappeared after reporting positions while navigating a 10 000 foot pass through the Andes. Wreckage found near El Volcan pass, 38 miles southeast of Santiago. No survivors reported. weather was clear. The flight from Santiago to Buenos Aires operated by Lineas Aereas Nacionales.

Water flows again at Guantanamo base on first anniversary
