Kalona boy dies in sledding accident at home
Kalona Iowa seven year old Daniel Mast died en route to a doctor after being thrown from a sled in the front yard of the Mast home. The first grade student at Mid Prairie School district lived six miles northwest of Kalona with his parents and three sisters and one brother. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 9 30 a m at Sharon Bethel Mennonite church with burial in Gingerich Cemetery.

Three Garwin family CO victims still critical in Iowa
In Marshalltown Iowa three Garwin family survivors remain in critical condition after carbon monoxide poisoning blamed on a bird nest in a metal exhaust pipe. Second driver charged in crash injuring Shelangoski family
The Shelangoski family suffered injuries when their car was rear ended by a vehicle driven by Harold Eugene Crafton of rural Princeton. Donald Eugene Shelangoski 28 and daughter Mary 5 were hospitalized. Donna 26 was sent to University Hospitals in Iowa City. Crafton was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
