Mark Mosier and Gary Gorham, Washington high school students, were elected to represent Washington Hi-Y in Des Moines for the state Youth in Government program. Mosier was named state senator and Gorham state representative. They will travel to Des Moines February 18 to meet Hi-Y members from across Iowa and draft possible legislation. The April 21 22 climax includes Hi-Y members taking over state government and a banquet with Governor Beardsley as speaker.

Iowa City authorities say Anton Tomash a 65 year old Oxford farmer will be held for arraignment on a charge of poisoning his wife. Sa die Tomash alleged the orange juice she planned to drink contained strychnine and investigators found strychnine at the farm along with three small vials and a bottle of unknown solution. She became ill January 19 after peaches and January 23 while drinking juice.
