YMCA Membership Drive Kicks Off For 900 Members

The annual YMCA enrollment began with a noon luncheon at Marion Avenue United Presbyterian Church. Herbert Campbell chaired, Richard McCleery spoke praising workers and youth-focused goals. Robert Gillesby explained the policy of non disqualification for financial need, aided by sustaining members. The drive targets 900 members, a $5,000 goal, with 376 current boy members and an estimated $15 per boy deficit beyond Chest support. Workers urged to begin calls and aim for the first report on Thursday Feb 3, with a victory celebration Feb 15 for Y's Men guests. Petit jurors for January term of district court will not report tomorrow as ordered.

White to close Crawfordsville store after 30 years
