The county board cut appropriations by about 15 000 from 1982 levels across sixteen offices and departments. Total approved is 62 209, compared with 77 107.05 the prior year, a near twenty percent drop. The board plans further economy in salaries, road program cuts, and restrained spending.
A treasury statement shows the seven month deficit at 1 271 721 030 46 dollars, down from 1 512 562 629 33 dollars a year ago, due to lower expenditures and about 147 000 from the internal revenue act of 1932.
