Iowa straight year after year shows rising auto loss payouts. 1968 estimates total 82 million dollars, up from 71.2 million in 1967 and 61 million in 1966, driven by more accidents including fatal ones, higher repair costs, medical care, and a May hail storm and tornadoes that caused about 4 million in vehicle damage.
