New Year's Holiday Traffic Toll Expected to Rise
Americans hit the highways for a long New Year weekend as safety officials fear a record number of deaths. Oral Rogers of Kalona Dies at 76
Kalona retired druggist Ora L. Rogers, 76, died today at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a week-long illness. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Christian and Baptist Church, burial in Sharon Hill Cemetery. Memorial fund to United Church in Kalona. Rogers, born April 17, 1886, owned Rogers Drug Store nearly 50 years and was a 50 year Mason. He was survived by a widow Eunice Snyder Rogers, a brother Virgil Rogers, two uncles, and a son Clell who died in 1915. Continues with service arrangements at Peterseim Funeral Home.
