Blick, reared in Washington and formerly prominent in local athletics, accepted a call to become pastor of Homewood United Presbyterian church in Pittsburgh Pa He has led the First U P church in St Louis Mo for seven years He and Mrs Blick visited family here and plan to depart Jan 19 with his first Pittsburgh sermon on Feb 1 and installation on Feb 4.

Russians Free American Officer Seized Near Berlin
In Berlin, American Lt. Horace J. Sincore of Homestead Florida was released after being seized 32 days earlier when he wandered into East Germany during maneuvers. An American spokesman said he was treated well. Sincore lost his way on Nov 24 while his unit conducted border maneuvers. French authorities protested a separate fatal shooting of a German policeman by three Russians who invaded the French sector on Christmas Day.

Twenty Three Die in Crash at Tehran Airport
TEHRAN Iran UP Twenty three persons including four American passengers were killed Thursday night in the crash of an Iranian Airways plane at Tehran Airport. Only two of the 25 aboard survived. The plane struck in heavy fog on approach from Abadan. Americans identified include James Elliot Blackmore and his wife of Great Neck New York Thom as Rispoli of Georgia and Cecille Anne de Moisy of Utah. The Blackmores were on a pleasure tour. Rispoli and de Moisy were connected to Iranian Army and Point Four program respectively.

Five people died in Iowa from holiday accidents between Christmas Eve and Thursday. The victims include Mrs. William J. Greene of Clinton, 30, burned in a home fire. James Kennedy, 17, of Missouri Valley, injured in a two car crash near Logan and died in a Council Bluffs hospital. Loras Ahern, 24, of Maquoketa, killed in a two car crash near Maquoketa. Allan Brady of Maquoketa, charged with intoxicated driving in the crash. Claude McConnell, 51, of Exline, in a crash near Exline. J C Rippell, 25, of Cascade, injured fatally when his car overturned near Cascade.

Red Patrols Beaten Back on Korean Front
UN forces repelled a series of Red patrol advances across the 155 mile front in Korea. In the Central Front sector near Kumhwa, patrols pressed at Sniper Ridge and Triangle Hill but were driven off. A 40 minute hand to hand clash occurred in a Central Front area as Patton tanks battered eight Red "mechanical monsters." The Reds conducted a brief air sweep toward Seoul, 40 miles away, but sabre jet attacks curtailed that effort.
