Tornado kills three in Potosi and damages area
A tornado struck Potosi Missouri and neighboring towns early today, killing three people and injuring 25. Police named the deceased as 65 year old Mr Hagard, 65 year old Mrs Hagard, and 9 year old Julia Hunter. Dozens of homes were heavily damaged and about 30 residents were hospitalized.

United Press International reports five people died Wednesday in Iowa highway crashes. State Rep. Robert Diehl died when his car left Iowa 144 and overturned in a field near Dana, with autopsy to determine a possible heart attack. Rosemary Gibbs, 46, of Farley, was killed on U S 20 in Dubuque when her car was struck by a truck driven by James Trask, 50, of Mason City. Gibbs’ daughters were uninjured. Robert Zanger, 35, of Coralville, died at University Hospitals in Iowa City from injuries from a Sunday incident on the north edge of Iowa City.
