Two longtime Columbus Junction residents died after brief illnesses. Jas K Helmick 87 passed away at 7:30 p m and Mina Hall 84 died at her Columbus City home. Helmick’s funeral is Sunday at the Columbus City Methodist Church with burial in Columbus City Cemetery. He was born May 23 1858 and married Jennie Dunlavy in 1886. survived by a son, James D, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hall’s funeral services are pending. she was born July 26 1861, with two daughters Laura Honts and Carrie Wilson, two sons Harry and Ralph, a son Howard Pfeifer, and others. she was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
