Iowa county boards may not attach areas to 12 year school districts before July 1 1962. The attorney general ruled Webster county acted prematurely by a September 1 move. Petitions for reorganizations must be reviewed by July 1 1962 with resident votes on proposed changes. After July 1 any attachment requires State Board approval and full agricultural land tax credit payment.

William R. Matson, a soybean oil merchant with Cargill Inc, has been named manager of the Washington soy bean processing plant. He succeeds John A. Copp, resigned. Christmas Party at YMCA Brings Joy to 100 Children
More than 100 children and 29 mothers attended the annual YMCA Christmas party sponsored by the YWCA and Rotary Club with other groups. Santa offered gifts, toys, and clothing while mothers received presents.
