Polk County District Judge Dale Missildine extended an injunction to Cass and Ida counties, barring the Iowa Tax Commission from implementing 1965 property valuation adjustments in 29 counties. Edna Jones was elected president at the annual meeting in the city library Wednesday evening, succeeding Charles Hotle after six years. Howard Anderson and Harold Mangold were named vice presidents, John Owen re elected secretary-treasurer, and Bruce Cowden received a life membership and director emeritus status for his longtime support of local history. The group planned February’s annual dinner, approved an executive committee, and authorized a Des Moines history meeting delegate for January 17. Membership dues are $1 and open to anyone interested in local history.

Funeral services for 82 year old John T. Tucker will be held Saturday at 1 30 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Cowell. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Tucker died Wednesday December 15 1965 after more than three years as a Hospital patient.
