Governor Allen tells governors at White Sulphur Springs Kansas will expel the Klan by denying it business within state borders rather than using force. He notes the group operates by masks and terror and emphasizes chartering requirements for any Kansas leagues.
Washington reports the American Legion will push a congressional program before March 4 including the bonus bill and shipping measure. Leaders aim to aid disabled veterans, protect veterans in enlistment, suspend immigration for years, and enact the Bursum retirement of over 1,000 emergency officers. The five fold adjusted compensation bill may include a land reclamation feature via the Smith McNary amendment.

The Federal Board for Vocational Education reports 476 828 pupils attended 4 945 federally funded vocational schools under approved state plans for the year ended June 30 1922 up from 324 247 a year earlier. Teachers numbered 12 280 up from 10 066. Part time schooling expanded with 228 655 in part time and 113 338 in all day programs. Total expenditure reached 14 770 143 with federal funds 3 854 570 and state and local funds covering the rest. The board urges Congress to boost support for Home Economics and Commercial Education.
Representative Keller of Minnesota again did not appear before the House Judiciary Committee to testify under oath on impeachment charges against Attorney General Dougherty. The committee said the subpoena stands and Keller may be held in contempt. a decision was postponed until Monday.

B F Kneeskern Castalia cattle buyer was granted liberty on twenty thousand dollar bonds after a writ of habeas corpus petition. Judge Leland ordered release while a possible second trial, pending in January or March, proceeds. The case relates to the death of Mrs Irene Van Brocklin and Kneeskern has retained Frank O Connell of Dubuque as attorney.

Pella Iowa December 16 Dick Hols aged nineteen was accidentally killed while hunting near Pella yesterday. His gun which he rested against a corn stalk fell to the ground and discharged striking Hols in the stomach.
