Harris Hugh Humphrey years old died instantly after a car struck him and his mother Virginia Collins Humphrey who was critically injured while crossing a street in Memphis. The boy had just received a cowboy suit boots and cap pistols for Christmas and tried to aid his mother at the crossing. Police said the accident occurred as they returned from a movie with witnesses noting the boy attempting to help his mother to her feet before the collision.
