Mrs. Joe D. Zook died at her Noble edge home after a December stroke. Born Sarah Marner near Kalona, she would have been 53 in January. Funeral at East Union Church near Kalona, burial with parents and a brother. Survived by a sister Mrs Sherm Swartzgendruber and three brothers Leo, Ed, and Sam.
The funeral of Prank Eicher is set for 1 30 this afternoon at the Mennonite Church in Wayland. Interment will follow in the Eicher Cemetery near Noble.
M J Fitzgerald 69 a longtime Keota resident and manager of the Keota Oil Company service station died suddenly from lobar pneumonia after a brief illness begun with a heavy cold. He is survived by a brother Pat Fitzgerald of Peoria Illinois. Funeral plans not announced.
Mrs. Perry Whetstine, 76, died at 4 25 a m at the home of her son Loyd Whetstine in Wellman. Burial planned at Wassonville Sunday. Born Celia Frances Carr on Aug 30 1859, she married Perry Whetstine in 1878. Survived by three living children incl Love Whetstine, thirteen grandchildren, sister Mrs. William Good of Muscatine, and twin brothers John and Jim of Wellman.
Funeral services for Mrs. L. P. Jackson, who died yesterday, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at L. A. Jones funeral home. Burial will be in West Chester cemetery. Minnie H. Volgaardsen was born December 2, 1867 in Wilton Iowa and died December 12, 1935 in Washington Iowa. She married J. P. Jackson of West Chester in May 1887 and is survived by her husband two children Mabel Plummer and Edward Jackson, a daughter Emma Jackson died in 1919 and she leaves two grandchildren.
The funeral for Mrs. Palmer will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Amish. Burial will follow there. Step-daughter Mrs. Minnie Patterson arrives from DeRidder Louisiana to attend.

Leaders of 4,400 workers at the Queens Electric Light and Power Co announce a strike to win reinstatement for three officers of the utility employes' brotherhood discharged by the firm. They expect a large impact on electric light and transportation but have not set a start time.
