Two Vehicles Recovered After Theft Spree in Iowa County
Washington County officers report two cars stolen in the area have been recovered. The first car, stolen December 8, was taken from Larry Reese of rural Riverside and found in Lee County. A second car owned by Durance E. Sheely of Cedar Rapids was stolen and abandoned near the Highland Iowa Township border, close to the Reese site, suggesting the same thief.

The U S Labor Department charged Kossuth County treasurer's office in Algona with illegal sex discrimination under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
