Bandmasters Group In Meeting Thursday
Twenty six members of the South east Iowa Bandmasters association attended a Thursday evening meeting in Washington preceded by a dinner at Winga's Cafe. Norma Pagemiller led the program and plans for a spring solo and ensemble clinic and the state bandmasters meeting were discussed. The state meeting is set for Burlington in May. Fred Ebbs, new State University of Iowa band director, spoke about his experiences with the university marching band and his rehearsal techniques.

Six Directors Elected At Annual Chamber Meeting

Former Junction Woman Claimed in Grinnell
Louise McCleery of Laurel formerly of Columbus Junction died Wednesday night December 8 in a Grinnell hospital after a stroke a week earlier. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Methodist church with burial in Laurel. She left Columbus Junction about a year and a half ago. Survived by a son Hugh a granddaughter of Laurel and two sisters. She belonged to Chavier CX MEO the Half Hour Club and the Methodist church in Columbus Junction.

Two Wayland Men Injured in Iowa City Area Accident
Two Wayland residents Levi and Ray Roth were hauling sheep to Cedar Rapids when a semi jackknifed on icy roads five miles north of Iowa City. Leo Thorton of Sumner Illinois drove the other truck and was unhurt. Ray suffered cuts and Levi had a crushed knee heel and wrist. Levi could be home by Christmas.
