Melvin Wildt twelve years old will be returned today to the state soldiers and sailors orphans home at Davenport from which he had strayed. He was picked up at the Diamond Inn west of town by Police Chief Carl Hacker. Sheriff H M Putnam found he hitchhiked from Davenport to Ainsworth where shelter was given last night. He then came to Washington today and claimed to be visiting his grandmother at Davenport and that his home is at Fort Dodge.
