Fire damages sheds at UP Home campus
A Sunday afternoon fire destroyed two storage sheds and a greenhouse at UP Home, causing several thousand dollars in damage. The blaze near cottages south of the campus and east of the garden started around 4 p.m. Superintendent Richard Colby could not determine the cause, discounting an initial theory that a gas leak from an International Cab tractor sparked the blaze. A pickup, three tractors and attachments, three rotary mowers, and other equipment were lost.
