Car Owners In Washington County Secure Licenses For 1832

Auto owners rush to county treasurer and sheriff offices for 1832 licenses. By yesterday 4088 drivers had applied, with over 1000 in December’s first week. Frank Kos handles daily outreach at Rublo Riverside Wellman Brighton Crawfordsville as needed. Over 1000 autos licensed today. 78 trucks ceased for next year. Also thanks expressed for sympathy and flowers after bereavement.

Iowa Firm Sells Champion Show Hog in Expo Sale

The 254 pound junior division champion hog owned by Rouse Brown of Aledo Illinois sold at the International Livestock Exposition. The Iowa Livestock Commission sold it to Wilson & Company for $15 per cwt. Judge John Babeok praised the hog as near perfect.

Resolutions urge Congress to overhaul farm relief policy

At the American Farm Bureau convention in Chicago on December 8 resolutions were offered demanding changes to farm relief policy. They cover marketing, rural credits, monetary issues, taxation, transportation, tariff, land and waterways, reclamation, and regulation. Final action was set for the next day.
