Des Moines reports Adjutant General Guy Logan urged a permanent cavalry troop stationed at the state campgrounds north of Des Moines. The unit would be on riot duty year round using national guards. Nevada Nevada December 6 Two of the largest derricks owned by the American Steel Company head to Madrid to assist construction of a mammoth Milwaukee bridge over the Des Moines River. The project aims to become one of the highest and longest double track bridges in the United States with a 6 000 ton girder weight total. The cost is about half a million dollars and work will run through winter toward a next summer completion.
