Iowa appoints Kentucky revenue head as state director
Wil liam H. Forst of Frankfort Kentucky was named director of the Iowa Department of Revenue by Gov. Harold E. Hughes. The 35 year old will join Des Moines to oversee the new department and begin on the Iowa payroll Jan 1 as an interim appointee awaiting Senate approval. Forst has long served in Kentucky revenue and previously worked with PAS on tax reforms. He will earn 24000 annually and carries experience in sales tax, motor vehicle fees, and state tax administration.
