Mixup in County Plate Numbers Causes Confusion

The county treasurer's office mixed license plate numbers Tuesday morning. David McGaffey of Washington was issued plate number 8 instead of Mrs. Francis Young of Wyman, who received the eighth plate registered to her husband C. J. Young. McGaffey got 18 and his son Gerald 19, while Mrs. Young and her husband waited in line with others. Mrs. McGaffey noted her husband arrived at 1 30 a.m. to secure a lower number and was disappointed by the error. The Journal regrets the error.
