Man Injured Helping Free Snowbound Bus Near West Chester
Merlin Lee Crawford of rural Keota was injured when a Mid-Prairie school bus became stuck on a county road two miles south and one-fourth mile west of West Chester. Crawford, treated for chest and head injuries at Washington County Hospital, was pinned between the bus and a county maintainer when the driver backed up during the attempted rescue. The 7:40 a.m. crash occurred as Earl L. Hobbs of Keota drove the bus.
