Navy pilot Lieut. J. P. Deshazo, 23, dies after his plane flips and bursts into flames during the 50 mile race at Curtiss-Wright airport. Spectator Louis Weiner, 38, of Glenview dies after being struck by the wreckage. Deshazo was pulled from flames but died at the airport hospital. Weiner died at Glenview hospital.
