Robert A Waterhouse Jr a 35 year old farmer and earth moving contractor from rural Washington is in stable condition at Mercy Hospital Iowa City after losing his right arm to the shoulder in a corn chopping machine while making silage near his home. The mishap happened about 3 pm one and a half miles south of Dublin in Dutch Creek Township and he was transported by ambulance with sheriff deputies and the Washington County Rescue Unit on scene. The arm was entangled in the chopper when he apparently tried to unclog the machine.

Two 218 Accidents in Washington County Reported
Two one car crashes on highway 218 in Washington County Wednesday caused about 2825 in property damage with no serious injuries. Bradford Ellis 26 faced charges for loss of control after turning onto a gravel road southeast of Riverside. Kevin Mickey 18 was charged with failing to stop in an assured clear distance after his car left the highway shoulder and hit a road drain before entering a ditch and fence north of Ainsworth.
