Auto crash injures three from Toledo in Iowa county
Three Toledo residents are hospitalized after a Sunday afternoon crash near Ainsworth. The semitruck loaded with eggs, driven by Marvin Dale Sellers of Knoxville and owned by Ellsworth Sales Co., overturned after losing its rear tandem wheels. Mrs. Harold Stiff, the driver, is in serious condition. her husband and his father William Whipple are with injuries at Washington county hospital. A Denver, Colorado, driver Kenneth B. Weiser was also involved. The collision occurred at 2 46 p m about a quarter mile east of the 218 and 9 junctions, causing about seven thousand dollars in damage to the truck before the car was destroyed.

Flood Swamps UN Camp Near Panmunjom Truce Site
A flash flood from the Sachon River swamped the most advanced UN camp inside the Panmunjom neutral zone forcing evacuation to higher ground. Major Riley V. Man Convicted For Impersonating Iowa Patrolman

Two Men Arrested for Disturbing the Peace in Richmond

Escapes Jail Then Is Captured Again
Charles Wallerich escaped from the Washington county jail between 3 and 4 a.m. Sunday through a small 9 by 10 inch door used to pass food. He was recaptured at about 7 p.m. Sunday in Richland by the Keokuk county Sheriff and the marshal. He faced a $3,000 bond on breaking and entering and will be charged with breaking jail. He previously broke into Don Paul's DX and station earlier this year.
