YMCA Opens At Junior High For Noon Pupils
Due to limited playground space the YMCA will serve junior high pupils at noon in the east lobby and gymnasium. A supervised study hall will operate for those not attending the YMCA. Girls and boys will alternate gym use. mixed sports once weekly. The hot lunch program begins September 5 with signups and payment on Mondays or Fridays.

Two cars collide causing injuries on South avenue
A Thursday collision on South avenue left Virgil Wittmer and Mrs. John Blick injured. Each car sustained about 200 dollars in damage as Wittmer attempted to pass Blick’s vehicle while Mrs. Blick turned left into a driveway. The incident was recorded by Washington city police.

Opening of Junior High Here Announced
Principal Edward Kelly announced the opening of the junior high with the first session on Tuesday August 28 at 8 45. Registration starts then. Seventh and eighth graders should bring registration fees including book rental 1 50 per semester locker deposit 50 cents per year industrial arts 1 50 per semester. Sixth graders need only locker deposit. Seventh graders should hold off buying spelling work books until classes begin. The junior high building is ready after interior redecorating this summer.

Clinton Man Killed In Car Accident
Elmer Davis aged 37 of Clinton died when his car left the road and crashed into a telephone pole four miles north of Fairfield. Davis was thrown clear as the 1949 Pontiac fell on him after he borrowed the vehicle from Hattie CherHolmes, owner of Hatties Coffee Car in Washington.
