Needham Sues City and Minick for 7500 in injuries
Mrs. Nell Needham of Grinnell filed a district court suit against the city of Washington J Minick and A D Sanders seeking 7500 damages for injuries from a January 19 1927 accident on West Main street. A sand pile allegedly left on the roadway by Minick caused a taxicab to crash injuring Needham whose back and nervous system were harmed. Her petition credits past damages totaling 775.55 and medical costs of 679.75 with additional future damages. Attorneys are J A Devitt and T L Brookhart.

More Vessels Sent to Help in Search for Missing Flyers
The navy augmented the Pacific search for seven missing Hawaiian flyers with 16 ships including the light cruiser Omaha and 15 destroyers. The hunt will run until darkness Thursday unless traces are found of Miss Mildred Doran and the six aviators. then vessels will return to duties. Admiral H. W. Jackson announced the move, ordering the ships from Admiral Luke McName.

A lone unmasked bandit looted the West Liberty filling station cash till of 246 dollars and 70 cents early today threatening to kill Henry Martin if he cried out after leaving. An employee sleeping in the station was not awakened.
