Pilot dies in plane crash on Mount Gugby
In Middlefield Connecticut a missing single engine Cessna 172 plunged into Mount Gugby on August 15. Pilot Richard C Grimaldi, 32, of Newington was found dead Sunday night. Passenger John T Emmanuel, 39, Hartford, survived six days trapped in the wreckage begging for water before rescue. Rescuers freed Emmanuel using crowbars and bare hands as a helicopter recovered the pilot’s body.
