Fire kills four Foy children in Iowa barn blaze
A hay barn fire on Peter Foy’s farm near Stanley Iowa overnight killed four children Thomas 18 Lewis 16 George 11 and Blanche 9 who slept in the loft. The barn collapsed burying the victims as neighbors and parents escaped in the hot weather. Six horses two cattle and the family dog perished with grain and farm implements in losses estimated at 2000. The cause remains a mystery.
