Funeral set for Fort Sherman in Washington
Fort Sherman 76 of Washington died at University Hospital in Iowa City after admission Friday. Funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at United Presbyterian Church with interment in Elm Grove cemetery. Sherman in drug business with brother Don until 1937. he served as church elder for seven years. He is survived by a half sister and two nephews.

Reconstruction of Washington State Bank Under Way
A contract has been let for rebuilding the Washington State Bank after a fire on July 18. The brick structure will have no second floor, a balcony with rest rooms and a conference room, and expanded main floor space for vaults and private boxes. Completion is set for about January 1 with Harry Sowden in charge.
