Emma Sojka Malichky, 69, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness. She was born December 14, 1895 near Riverside and married Harry Malichky in 1914. Funeral plans: Friday at Peterseim Funeral Chapel Kalona, 1 p.m., with Riverside Methodist Church service at 2 p.m. Burial Riverside. Survived by husband, two sons Hubert of Riverside and Harry Jr. of Iowa City, daughter Mrs Curtis Figgins of Kalona, eight grandchildren, two brothers Wes Sojka and Mill, and sister Mrs Bessie Kosner.

An Iowa City couple were injured at noon in a two car crash at the intersection of highways 218 and 92 east of Ainsworth. The Davenport couple in the other car reported brake failure. Both Iowa City occupants were hospitalized. The crash was under investigation by an Iowa Highway Patrolman.
