Heat wave expands across midwest with high near 98
A new heat wave moves east across the midwest as temperatures reach 98 in places. The heat belt stretches from Oklahoma through Kansas and into Illinois Indiana and Michigan with scattered showers in upper Michigan and northern Wisconsin. Forecasters expect relief begins midweek in Iowa and southern Illinois and Indiana by Thursday night.

Girls 4-H Club Entries Begin for Exhibit at United Presbyterian
Entries for the girls 4-H exhibit at the United Presbyterian church basement opened at 8:30 this morning and continued to noon. A junior division for under 12 and up to eighth grade was added to the regular 12 to 21 year old classes. County 4-H officers Mary Ann Bauer Marjorie Gamon Mary Knotek Esther Gerdes Virginia Snethen and Mrs Merle Eckels staffed the entry desk. Class 12 Complete Outfits were arranged by Mrs Orville Griggs and Mr Don Maxwell. Garden exhibits were set by Mrs Harry Stacy with Mrs Joe Knotek assisting. Judging of 15 clothing classes began at 1:30 with Wilds Busby as judge.
