Two Die in Highway Crash Near Ottumwa
Ottumwa Aug 16 UP two persons died and two were seriously injured in a collision between an automobile and a motorcycle two miles south of Ottumwa last night. The dead are Letha McElhinney 24 of Kirksville Missouri a passenger in the car and Lawrence McCarty of Batavia the motorcycle rider. The other motorcycle occupant Geraldine Grinstead of Ottumwa is in critical condition not expected to live.

National debt to drop to 265.5 billion with Sept. 1 retirements
