Arabs and Jews clash in Tel Aviv area mass attack
In Petah Tikva near Tel Aviv, twenty five armed Jews attacked twenty Arabs dining in an orange grove during Ramadan. They killed several Arabs including a family of a watchman, injured many, and damaged a house believed to be an Arab hideout. One Jew also died. The Hagana claimed reprisal for an earlier gunning incident.

Lawsuit Seeks 250000 Damages Over Plane Collision
In Des Moines on August 15, the estate of C L Rutherford files a federal damage suit against the U S government under the Federal Tort Claims Act seeking 250000 after Rutherford was killed May 13 when his plane collided with an army trainer plane near Tulsa Oklahoma. The National Coal Co of Oskaloosa also sues for 6000 over Rutherford’s plane. Additional suits totaling 40000 are brought by estates of Burlington youths Ronald Hagemeier and Richard Grant, each seeking 20000 for the navy plane crash at a Burlington air show.
