Tree Saves Man In Highway 275 Crash Near Council Bluffs

Highway Patrolman Lee Holtz of Spencer suffered a brain concussion when his car collided with a gravel truck near Marathon while en route to an accident. The same company operated both trucks. Mrs Milburn Krabill Dies in Peoria at 22
Mrs Milburn Krabill 22 died after a brain hemorrhage at the Methodist hospital in Peoria Illinois. Funeral services are set for Thursday with a prayer at the Lester B Krabill home and a 10 am service at Sugar Creek Mennonite church south of Wayland. Interment follows in Sugar Creek cemetery. She was born February 14 1919 at Milford Nebraska and married Milburn Krabill August 27 1939 at Sugar Creek church. Surviving are husband daughter Gretta Diane and several siblings.

DES MOINES Aug 12 The state executive council overrode Governor Wilson and refused to cancel its lease for social welfare department space in the downtown Iowa building. The council voted four to one and then rented 6,682 additional square feet to consolidate all welfare offices under one roof. The governor was the sole opposing vote.
