Bride of Jerry Higgins Married at St Marys Riverside
Barbara Jean Cole of Riverside and Jerry L Higgins of Fort Dodge wed at 8 am Saturday August 10 at St Marys Church Riverside. The ceremony was conducted by Rev Walter Boeckmann with a white floral decor exuding blue bows. The bride wore lace over taffeta, a veil with seed pearl tiara and netted accessories, carrying white rosebuds and huckleberry greenery. Bridesmaid Suzanne Cole wore powder blue cotton with a cummerbund and capioin, while Richard Higgins served as best man and ushers were Richard Winegarden and Robert Williams. A wedding breakfast followed at St Marys school lunch room. The couple plans a home in Fort Rucker Alabama after a southern states honeymoon. Guests hailed from Fort Dodge Cedar Rapids Webster Iowa City Davenport Des Moines Traer Ames Cedar Falls and Riverside.

Pleasant was treated at Washington County Hospital for facial lacerations and other injuries after his car went off Highway 218 seven miles north of Ainsworth and crashed head on into a tree. Patrolman James Richart said the vehicle hit a barricade in a construction zone, skidded 218 feet, and damage was estimated at 1200 dollars.
