In Fort Scott Kansas a crowd of about 2500 adopted bitter resolutions calling for the expulsion of Rev. Mr. Frazer of the State Temperance Union and others who push for enforcing Prohibition. A 50 member committee will execute the resolution and act quickly if agitators move to close saloons. Frazer is away but set to return, with ministers backing him publicly.

Avilla banker Leach, partner of James M. Key, fled the state amid forged paper charges. Ambuscade Clash in Batangas Kills Two U S Cavalrymen

Captain Brown of the First U S Cavalry and troops from L and M companies along with a Twenty first Infantry company fought a five hour engagement in Batangas province. Two cavalrymen were killed, the insurgents escaped, and quarters were burned during the ambuscade. General MacArthur reports that by July 4 1901 most of Luzon was pacified aside from Samar Mindanao Jolo and remaining Moro resistance.
