A nostalgic, heavily obfuscated testimonial advertisement touts Shilohs Cure for coughs and Karls Clover Tea as a laxative and blood purifier. It cites Mrs A S Sweet of Hartford, Conn, and Glasgow Lytle as sellers and emphasizes rapid relief, digestion, and complexion benefits.
Washington prepares to host the Second Regiment Iowa National Guards for a week starting Wednesday. Camps are being set at Highland Park with tents and grounds fitted for the visitors. Officers Col Jackson and Capt Kemble lead advance arrangements as units arrive from Keokuk Centerville Ottumwa Grinnell Fairfield Davenport Muscatine Iowa City Newton and other points.
Hamilet's All Stars perform with an elegant orchestra and band at the Graham in Ned the Waif this evening at 7 50. Free tickets for ladies with all reserved seats. Gallery 15 cents and children 10 cents to any seat.

Other events include an August 17th Tondianapolis trip, a G A R excursion to Buffalo on August 31st, and homeseekers excursions August 19th and September 7th.
