The Fifteenth Annual Washington Saddle Club Horse Show at the Washington County Fair drew a full house with 14 classes. Judge Jim Kiser praised horse and rider quality, and 60 horses shared a total payout of 749.50 across 14 divisions won by riders from multiple Iowa towns.

Five people were injured in a two car collision at a gas station driveway entrance south of the junction of Highway 92 and 218 east of Ainsworth. Lester Wagner 76 Wayland was unhurt.
