Asphalt paving planned at Washington Golf & Country Club

Wecht investigates hospital nitrous oxide mixup deaths
NORRISTOWN Pa UPI Allegheny County Coroner Dr Cyril Wecht hired by Suburban General Hospital to probe potential deaths from a nitrous oxide and oxygen mixup in the ER. In preliminary findings he says at most five of 35 deaths occurred during the seven months before discovery, with more study needed to link any deaths to the mixup.

The Washington County Fair wrapped its four day run setting attendance records driven by a demolition derby and tug of war contests plus a Blair House Players stage show. Demolition derby winner was Laverne Redlinger of Harper earning 200 dollars from a 750 dollar purse. Wayne Johanson of Brighton finished second with 100 dollars and Bruce Sinn of Wayland third with 50 dollars. Tug of War winners were Banana Man from Diamond Inn in men’s division, West Chester Chuggettes in women’s, and Diamond Inn mini-team in mini-pull. Twenty one teams competed. weight limits were set this year.
