The Health Facilities Construction Review Committee approved plans to add 34 beds to the Washington Care Center on East Polk Street. Jackette Management Services filed the permit with an estimated cost of 272000 dollars and a completion target in February 1975.
Incumbents L. W. Robison and Dorothy McCarthy were the only candidates filing nomination papers for seats on the Washington Community School District Board of Education. The Aug. 1 filing deadline set the two director posts in district 7 and district 1 as the only contested positions for the Sept. 10 election.
