Workmen progress on asphalt paving along East Main East Third and North Second Avenues in Washington causing temporary traffic restrictions for several days until completion. The same contractor recently finished similar road work on highway one north of Washington.

Washington County 4-H Fair Judging Opens Second Day

Market pigs topped by Eric Graber of Crooked Creek Cyclones as grand champion 224 lb Hampshire barrow. Peggy Chabal of Jackson Jills wins reserve breed and swine showmanship. also grand champion pen of three market pigs with Mike Bates runner-up. Record crowd of 4,000 attends Monday events including tractor pull. Tonight features Miss Washington County Pageant at 8 p.m. with nine entrants. Wednesday schedule includes 4-H Horse and Pony Show, Parade of Champions and dog obedience, then horse and pony trials and a Dick Ballard Orchestra dance at 9 p.m. Results list breed champions, reserve champions, and showmanship winners, with state fair qualifiers noted.
