Old Timers Group Adds New Members Dinner Aug 11
Several new names joined the Evening Journal Three Quarter Century Club. The annual dinner is Saturday August 11 at the Washington Country Club at noon with a short program. The new building on the Washington Retirement Home site will be open for inspection from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm for club members and the public. Membership is for residents aged 75 and older with no fees, and reservations total eighty nine so far.

Highlander Marian Smith Impresses in Edinburgh Dance Contest
Marian Smith, 19, a nursing student and member of the University of Iowa Scottish Highlanders, won two second places at the Edinburgh International Dancing Festival.
