Funeral for William Armstrong Held Friday Morning

Funeral service for William Armstrong is set for 10:20 AM Friday at his sister Mrs. William Galloway’s home on West Main Street with Rev. J Reade McMurray of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elim Grove Cemetery. Armstrong died suddenly on the Galloway porch after years of heart ailments. He was born in County Fermanagh Ireland in July 1851 and lived in Virginia and South Dakota before moving to Washington to live with his sisters. He is survived by three sisters and was known for humor and kindness to children.
